Here we share the success of a handmade bespoke project the Blake team completed for Cartier...

THE CHALLENGE

When Cartier approached us in June, they required two sizes of envelopes, a 100x100mm and a 160x160mm. These were to be made from our unique shimmering rainbow paper – this had never been used for such small envelopes before, so this was a new challenge and our team began by creating a handmade sample for them.

Once the templates had been signed off, it was time to begin! Our team had to get the shimmering rainbow flat sheet papers and die-cut and crease them to the right size template. The next step was to fold and glue the edges of the envelope together, before finally adding the peel and seal strip onto the flap of the envelope. Almost every aspect of this was done by hand, which was a time consuming process requiring great attention to detail.

 As Cartier required these to be sent to New York, the lead time had to be very quick. Through their commitment and skill, our team were able to turn the whole project around in 7 days ready to ship to the USA in time for the Cartier launch!
