Working with School in a Bag, we are delighted to say we have now funded 352 School Bags. We wanted to extend our thanks once more and say a massive thank you to everyone involved and for all your generous donations!
At the end of February, we watched the distressing situation in Ukraine unfold. Ten million Ukrainians were forced to leave their homes, and over 3.6 million people have had to flee the country to reach safety in countries such as Poland, Romania, Moldova and Hungary.
At Blake, our first initial reaction was that we needed to help and support the refugees. Through our Giving Hope Through Education and our partnership with School in a Bag we were able to get in touch with the charity Te Aud Romania, who we had partnered with two years ago to distribute School Bags to the children orphanage at Guru Humorului.
To help with the Ukrainian crisis, we partnered up with School in a Bag to donate and packed School Bags that are being sent directly to Te Aud Romania, which were being distributed to refugees to give them the essentials that they need.
At Blake, we funded and packed an amazing 300 School Bags at the head office in Yeovil! We spent two days as a team packing the contents of the School Bags, and packing the bags in to boxes, ready to be shipped off to Romania.
In addition to this, through further fundraising and their brilliant efforts, the team at Blake have also raised enough money for a further 52 bags to be made up and sent to Romania.
The team at Blake are extremely grateful to be able to help and make some difference to families who had to leave everything behind in Ukraine.
